BLIDÖSUND

s/s BLIDÖSUND is one of the last coal-powered steam-vessels still operating in the Stockholm archipelago. She was built at Eriksberg Shipyard in Gothenburg and has been preserved in such a way that she now, without a doubt, can be called a living museum. When you step aboard this vessel , you will step back in time, and into a small part of Swedish history that only existed one hundred years ago. It is as far from plastic interiors and motor vibrations of modern boats as you can get. Come and experience the steady beat from the steam-engine and the smell of coal. Mixed with the unmistakable aroma of traditional Swedish cooking, escaping from the galley. From dishes such as eg.; Sailor's Stew, a Swedish classic. When the whistle blows we are off to an ever changing scenery of skerries and islands. Close to shore you may catch a glimpse of beautiful summer villas and pavilions, that once belonged to the merchant class of old. In the dining-room, you are invited to sample traditional Swedish cuisine and in the aft saloon, our musicians are tuning up for the dance later on. On s/s Blidösund we want to give you and your guests an unforgettable experience. One that will take you almost a century back in time.
